Murano Glass Master Angelo Ballarin took over the furnaces of his Father & Uncle upon their retirement and began introduced bright contemporary colours into his creations. The glass is extremely popular in the galleries of Venice & Northern Italy but rarely seen in the UK, the Mather Gallery being the only stockist.
The F&M Ballarin Murano Glass Company was formed in 1956 by two Brothers Mario & Francesco Ballarin. The Brothers devoted their working lives to designing & creating by hand beautiful new concepts in Murano Glass whilst teaching their apprentice Angelo the secrets of its production. The Brothers have since retired leaving the mantle of F&M Ballarin upon the willing shoulders of now Glass Master Angelo Ballarin. Often called the Glass Magician he creates objects elegantly worked in a classical Murano style with his more contemporary ideas of colour, light & modern lines.
For the Mather Gallery Angelo produces vases, lamps, glass in filigree, bottles, frames and many other articles in blown
glass, because of the process no two articles can be the same, which means clients are purchasing a unique piece of Murano Glass Art. Images shown only represent a small selection of the Murano Glassware we stock & colours in
the photographs may not be a perfect representation. Whilst we are happy to take online reservations we can’t post these delicate items and ask that you collect from the gallery.
