New to the Mather Gallery is the work of Scott Bateman. Originally Scott came from Birmingham, but he currently lives in St Ives, Cambridgeshire with his family. However, he graduated from Lancaster University having gained a BA Honours in illustration so has Lancashire credentials. With his work continuing to grow in popularity, Scott has enjoyed a growing success over the past few years, selling his work through various galleries and to private collectors in the UK. As he says,
“The best part about being an artist is the enjoyment I get from my work. When I complete a piece of work, it’s always a great feeling to take a step back and feel happy about what I’ve just created. When others find happiness in and appreciate my artwork… that makes it all worthwhile. My paintings are mainly oil on canvas, vibrantly coloured and have a quirky contemporary feel.”
The Mather Gallery has been lucky to acquire a selection of some of his latest charming landscapes in which he has introduced much more detailed characters, presented in beautiful frames they look lovely in customers homes.
